What is a bee wrap?

The bee wrap is a food film made from cotton impregnated with jojoba oil which ensures the flexibility of the fabric. The fabric is coated with beeswax on one side to ensure that the food is preserved due to its antibacterial properties. The other side of the cotton is coated with tree resin to provide adhesive properties. The result is spectacular: your food is hygienically protected and can breathe, but moisture cannot pass through because the wax and oil are hydrophobic. The wrapping thus prolongs the shelf life of your food.

Use of the bee wrap and especially reuse!

The bee wrap can be used to cover a container or directly solid food. You can wrap a bowl, cut fruit or vegetables, cheese, etc. The fabric is so flexible that it easily conforms to the shape of all contents (except liquids of course). It is estimated that the bee wrap can be reused up to 100 times, making it one of the most environmentally friendly materials. Once your bee wrap has been used up, you can use it as a fire starter in your stove or barbecue, or it can go straight to the compost bin rather than the household waste bin.

How to clean your bee wrap

Cleaning the bee wrap is simple: just wash it in cold or warm water, not exceeding 30°C, then let it air dry or dab it with a dry cloth. Never put it in the tumble dryer or dishwasher. When not in use, store your bee wrap in a dry, dust-free place. In case of heat waves, you can store it in the refrigerator, as beeswax is sensitive to heat.

We offer two types of bee wrap in different sizes.

Bee wrap sheets

The bee wrap sheets are available in sets of three pieces of different sizes:

17.5 x 20 cm
25 x 27.5 cm
33 x 35 cm

You can choose between 3 designs: fruit, green leaves or geometrical.

The bee wrap roll

If you prefer a larger format that allows you to cut your bee wrap to your needs, choose the 32 x 100 cm roll. You will find the same motifs as for the leaves: fruit, green leaves or geometrical.

Cotton bowl covers

We offer another solution to preserve your food in a hygienic and ecological way: cotton bowl covers . They are packaged in sets of 3 round pieces, with diameters of 20, 25, and 30 cm. The gathers of the bowl cover are elastic, so that they fit well on the containers and can be adapted to bowls and salad bowls of various sizes. The flexibility does not restrict them to round salad bowls, but also accommodates other formats, such as oval, square or even rectangle. Our bowl covers are made of organic cotton and can be used over and over again. They are not coated with wax, so you can wash them by hand, but also in the washing machine at 30°C. Do not put them in the tumble dryer, as the heat from the tumble dryer will damage the elastic around the cap. We offer the same three designs as for the bee wrap: fruit, green leaves or geometric.
